Your Voice. Your Power. Your Community.

PFLAG Morristown/Morris County is built on the belief that change happens when everyday people take action together. Whether it’s protecting LGBTQIA+ rights, building inclusive schools, or ensuring every voice is heard at the ballot box—your participation matters.

Here are three ways you can make an impact right now:

1. Ask Your Representatives to Support Bill S2260/A2218

Morris County municipalities can be found in Districts 21, 24, 25, and 26

Why It Matters

S2260 and A2218 are companion bills moving through our state legislature right now. Together, they create real, legal protections for people accessing reproductive health care and gender-affirming care in New Jersey — and for the providers who serve them.

Here's what that means in plain language:

  • If you're a trans person receiving gender-affirming care in New Jersey, this bill protects you and your doctor — even if your home state has tried to ban that care.

  • If you're a provider treating out-of-state patients, you cannot lose your license for giving legal care in New Jersey.

  • If another state tries to prosecute someone for helping a patient travel here for care, New Jersey's governor cannot hand them over.

  • And your medical records? They stay private. They cannot be turned over to another state's investigators without your consent.

This bill doesn't change what's legal here. New Jersey already protects this care. What it does is make sure those protections have real teeth — that no other state can reach across our borders and punish our community for living freely.

For PFLAG families, that matters. It means the care your loved ones need — and the people brave enough to provide it — are backed by the law of this state.

That is worth fighting for.

Hi, my name is [your name] and I'm a constituent calling from [your city/town]. I'm calling to ask Assemblymember [their name] to support Bill S2260/A2218 protecting access to transgender healthcare.

The transgender community deserves access to compassionate, medically necessary care — just like everyone else. Restricting this care causes real harm to real people: to trans youth who are already navigating so much, to adults who rely on these treatments for their quality of life and mental health, and to families who simply want their loved ones to be healthy and supported. I'm asking Assemblymember [their name] to stand on the right side of this issue and actively support policies that protect, not limit, trans healthcare access in our state. I want my representative to know that this community is watching, and we need elected officials who will protect vulnerable people — not put them at greater risk.
